Hello can anyone give me any advice or information?I wil try to explain..
I am 21,and when I was 15 my dad died suddenly. It was a huge shock.I began binge eating becase I was depressed, mainly on sugary food, and also had the depo provera contraception for 9 months.Around this time, I began feeling very..down and spaced out and sickly.I couldnt concentrate and everthing felt a dreamlike state. To cut a long story short, 4 years later I feel worse and worse. So so tired, overweight, spotty, spaced out, pressure on my head and sickly, almost flu like.
I went to a alternative medicine clinic and they said it was a CANDIDA OVERGROWTH and, suggested a strict diect that also ruled out certain intolerances they say I have eg wheat. Anyway it is 100 pound a month for the treatment and I dont know what to do. I tried to commit suicide last month coz i cant bare to be so ill and my dr wont listen,it is so bad.
The internet get acomplia forums recommend REALLY strict diets that I feel are impossible..
is it possible to get rid of this candida (Does this sound like it is my problem) using a less strict diet that basically minimises sugar and alcohol, cuts out yeast and is just really healthy? I can certainly handle a diet, I am overweight and have joined weight watchers, but these candida diets are so extreme.. no dairy, no grains, no potatoes, no fruit..
Should i contact the clinic and get the supplements off them but follow a low sugar version of weight wathcers?? this may be cheaper? please any advice would be amazing, sorry it was so long. This is making me so depressed as I feel so alone on it.
Thanks x

Hey all, I have had chronic Candida overgrowth for probably 5 years already. As of yet, any medication that I have tried only worked for a week or so and then my symptoms came back. When I tried natural remedies, and I did it for over a year, they helped me at the moment but as soon as I stopped my symptoms came back. I can not eat, pretty much anything but lettuce and cucumbers and garlic. Those are the three things that will not cause me to be in severe pain. Basically, it’s as if I am allergic to all foods that acomplia side effects cause Candida to grow. My symptoms started out with a severe yeast infection and went to cystitis then to severe weight gain and in the process I was diagnosed with Hepatitis C. I did the full treatment for Hepatitis C and during the one year treatment all my Candida problems went away. And again, as soon as I concluded my treatment my body went back to having the same Candida problems as before, the weekly yeast infections, the severe pain during urination, etc.
I am pretty sure that my Hepatitis C was cause by my chronic Candida infection, but our knowledgeable doctors can not diagnose Candida overgrowth and blame it on something else. To date, I am still struggling with chronic Candida overgrowth and after tons of research and trials of herbal medications I have yet to find an actual cure, not just a cover up for the problem.
I would love it if someone, who had a similar experience as mine and found a cure for the infection, helped me out in this dire situation. I will be forever grateful, and I do want to mention that I know quiet a few people who have gone through the same thing that I am going through, but till this date have not been successful in finding an actual solution to the problem. Any information is greatly appreciated.
A nutritionist is a good idea, thank you.
I have taken Diflucan and Nystatin but each time i stopped taking them I had recuring infections. And I did get tested for all kinds of STD’s and HIV and I am negative for all.
piratephyl and nichole m, thank you so much, you have provided me with some new information. Piratephyl i have just gone to the yeastconnection site u gave me and its incredible, i can attain so much more information regarding my situation, thank you! Nichole m i have just e-mailed the doctor you told me about, since i live in New York, it will be hard for me to go see him. I am really happy that you had found a cure for your problem, thank you!

Candida, sugar, and depression contradiction?

Ok…So I’ve been changing my diet because of a possible candida overgrowth. I’ve been going acomplia blogs through some harsh depression and anxiety and I feel the candida is the cause. I don’t eat sugar anymore because it feeds the candida. I always crave desserts now like cake, ice cream, chocolate. However, I just read that craving sweets means your serotonin levels may be low and you need sweets to increase your serotonin production.

Well higher serotonin is good to lift depression. See the contradiction? What the heck do I do now? If candida is causing my depression, my diet to treat candida to lift my depression is helping keep my depression there. !@#$%^&*(
